Game Day Guide

MCG

The MCG is located on Brunton Ave, Richmond. Parking is usually available in Yarra Park on event days and is controlled by the MCC but managed by Care Park. Parking currenly costs $10 per car. For details please visit the MCG website here

Occaisonally Yarra Park will close after heavy rain. The Club will endeavour to communicate when this occurs. Another parking alternative is in the CBD's high-rise buildings.

There are two train stations close to the MCG.

- Jolimont (also known as MCG station) is north of the ground and about a five-minute walk away. From any railway station in the CBD, take the Hurstbridge or South Morang lines.

- Richmond station is on the south-eastern side of the MCG. It's a longer walk than Jolimont but allows you to take in the sights of Punt Rd Oval as you make your way to the stadium. Take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines from the city.

There are three tram routes near the MCG:

- No. 75 (City-Vermont South) travels along Flinders St and connects with the eastern suburbs via Wellington Pde. Stops outside the ground.

- No. 48 (Doclands/City-North Balwyn) travels along Collins St and connects with the eastern suburbs via Wellington Pde. Stops outside the ground.

- No. 70 (Docklands/City-Wattle Park) travels along Flinders St then detours via Melbourne Park with a short walk to the ground.

The bus route 246 is run by National Bus Company, which links La Trobe University with Elsternwick station. This is best for patrons both north and south of the city. The 246 stops in Punt Rd, just a short walk to the MCG.

Taxis are available from the ground at the conclusion of each match, or you can tke a 15-minute walk to the city.

MCG Footbridge Closure Information

From January 2019 until the completion of the Melbourne Park Redevelopment in 2023, the MCG Footbridge (or 'Tube Bridge') will be partially closed to allow for the construction of a new arena in Melbourne Park.  The bridge is located between Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Arena, connecting Melbourne Park to the southern end of the MCG concourse.

The northern section of the MCG Footbridge will remain open and will continue to provide access between the MCG and Rod Laver Arena/Melbourne Park tram stop. Alternative routes available are the use of William Barak Bridge and Edwin Flack Bridge.

For more information on the Melbourne Park Redevelopment visit the Melbourne Olympic Park website here

Your membership card's barcode will be blocked for that game only and you will need to scan in with your Ticketek ticket.

If you hold a Companion Card you will need to present the card at the time of purchasing your ticket to receive the companion seat at no charge. Carers policy: Disabled members who are unable to attend the ground wtihout someone accompanying them should contact the Club to enquire about using their Companion Card or obtaining a carers pass.
