What happened to the Fighting Tiger Fund?

In 2011, the Club established the Fighting Tiger Fund (FTF). Its purpose was to provide an injection of cash to enable us to fully invest in football and break the cycle of mediocrity.

Its aim was clear: three Premierships, zero debt, and 75,000 members. The unwavering support of our FTF patrons has paved the way for our success. Thanks to you, we've etched remarkable chapters in the Club's history and created memories that will last forever.

We know however that if you are standing still in this game, you are going backwards. We must look forward, and the time has come to move into the next phase of our fundraising journey. As such, the Fighting Tiger Fund was retired in 2023. The Fund has met its intended purpose, and we reflect on this with immense pride.

To recognise the challenges that lie ahead, we have established the Strong & Bold Foundation.

What is a Punt Road Patron?

Punt Road Patrons are the regular givers to the Strong & Bold Foundation. The generosity you display by giving annually to the Foundation, often complementing your Richmond Football Club membership, reflects a remarkable level of commitment to the Yellow & Black. For this, we are incredibly grateful.

Why is regular giving important?

Regular giving to the Strong & Bold Foundation provides the financial resilience necessary to uphold our position as an ultra-competitive football club, both on and off the field. It builds financial strength and enables us to make essential investments to maintain Richmond Football Club’s prominence within the league.

What does my donation contribute to?

In 2024, the Foundation’s primary focus will be the transformation of our historic home, Punt Road Oval. The redevelopment of Punt Road Oval stands as one of the most significant endeavours in our Club’s history. Beyond securing Richmond’s presence within Richmond itself, it will deliver top-tier facilities for our players, staff, supporters, and community partners, setting the stage for a thriving future.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! Through our partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), contributions to the Strong & Bold Foundation are tax-deductible*.

By making a Strong & Bold Foundation contribution through renewing or purchasing your Punt Road Patron package, you acknowledge that this donation is made unconditionally to the Australian Sports Foundation for the benefit of the Richmond Football Club limited. By making this donation you also accept the Australian Sports Foundation's Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions which can be found on the ASF website at https://asf.org.au/terms-and-conditions and https://asf.org.au/privacy-policy. You will receive a tax receipt at the end of the 2023-24 ATO Financial Year for any Punt Road Patron payments made October 25, 2023 – June 25, 2024.

*For each $200 Punt Road Elite Patron contribution, $100 will be a tax-deductible donation to the ASF for which they will issue a receipt. The remaining $100 is in consideration for the opportunity to receive the benefits offered under the Elite Patron Promotion, which are valued at $100 per entry.

What is the Elite Patron Donation Promotion?

Punt Road Elite Patrons ($200 contributions) have the added privilege of participating in the Elite Patron Lottery, standing a chance to win $20,000 in cash^!

Each entry will receive an instant win scratch card via post, with every card winning a $5, $10, $20 or $50 Roar Store voucher.

Early Bird Prizes will be available throughout the promotional period. Be sure to be up to date with your payments to be in the draw!

The Grand Prize Draw will take place on 20/09/2024 at 2PM AEST. The first three (3) valid entries drawn will each win a cash prize as noted below.

• First Prize: $20,000
• Second Prize: $3,000
• Third Prize: $1,000

^ Patrons who are residents in New South Wales, South Australia, Northern Territory and internationally are not eligible for the Elite Patron Donation Promotion. These Elite Patrons are requested to make the full $200 donation and will be provided with a tax-deductible receipt by the ASF.
